Project Overview
ADS Structural was appointed to provide structural engineering design services for a typical domestic loft conversion requiring the creation of a new habitable floor within the existing roof space. The structural strategy utilised two parallel steel beams positioned above the existing ceiling joists to support new floor joists and to provide a robust load path for new low-level walls that in turn prop the existing rafters.

Project Challenges
Working Within an Existing Roof Space
