ADS undertook detailed assessment of historical site data and supplemented the data to delineate a hotspot of chlorinated solvents. We managed the implementation of the groundwater remediation which required formation of over 75 targeted injection wells to Made Ground and 15 to bedrock. Specialist contractor Regenesis was employed to inject three chemicals designed to breakdown the solvents to harmless by-products. ADS Consult provided technical oversight and confirmatory monitoring of the works and to track the success of the underground reactions.
This project was completed to demanding programme requirements and to the satisfaction of the client and regulators.
ADS was commissioned to support the contractor to deliver Groundwater clean-up of solvents impacting a principal aquifer. We delivered a Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment (DQRA), Remediation Options Appraisal, Remediation Strategy and Implementation Plan and Piling Risk Assessment. All planning requirements were met and agreement with Environment Agency secured.
